Half French and born in Oklahoma, Oliver Benjamin Thayer was whisked away by a storm cloud of dust. He spent his childhood traveling the globe with his family as they collected odd jobs, records and volumes of strange verse. They bounced from Turkey to Italy to Israel to England. Glamorous Iola, Kansas, as well. Unhinged, lost and searching in his teens for adulthood, he found himself stumbling through New York City before the towers fell, chasing his demons through the projects of Bed Stuy and catching more images for songs.
After four years in Asia, mostly passed out on a beach while the police looked for him or someone else, Oliver is in New York City again with a number of new albums available because above all, Oliver writes and sings songs. His global network of disenfranchised humans, drunks, gypsies, artists, thieves, sex addicts, gamblers and lunatics await his next musical and linguistic endeavor. Kiss him and he'll kiss you back.
